November 25, 2009. Chinese Health Official Warns of Swine Flu Mutation

A leading Chinese health expert warned on November 25th of possible mutations or changes in the H1N1 swine flu virus, as it could mix with the H5N1 bird flu to create a more threatening hybrid of the virus. The expert warned that as the H5N1 virus has been reported in China for several years, the possibility that the two could mix cannot be ruled out and should be monitored closely.
