Kuwaiti health authorities confirmed the death of the third swine flu patient in the country on August 24th, when a 17-year-old Kuwaiti reportedly died while being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit. Health ministry officials warned that least seven other individuals are in critical care and may not survive the swine flu infection.

The death comes just one day after health authorities began considering a blanket quarantine for all individuals arriving in pilgrimage-related activities in Saudi Arabia.

There have been over 1,000 confirmed cases of swine flu in the country.
