August 10, 2009. Five People Die from Swine Flu in India

Five people died of A/H1N1 in India since August 7th, bringing the death toll from the disease up to six, local media reported on August 10th. Six patients are reported in serious condition in the Maharashtra state city of Pune, which has experienced more cases of the disease than anywhere else in India. Officials claim to have recorded more than 800 cases of swine flu in India. In spite of government claims to have the situation under control, panic is growing in parts of India over A/H1N1.
