August 6, 2009. Gabon Confirms First Case of Swine Flu

Gabon detected its first confirmed case of A/H1N1 flu virus on July 26th, but did not release the finding until August 6th, media sources reported. A French national vacationing in Gabon allegedly showed symptoms of the disease and tested positive for swine flu. He was treated in the Military School Hospital and was allowed to return to his home on Reunion Island this week.
