SOURCE:Air Security International

On 5 May 2009 the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon issued the following Warden Message: "This Warden Message alerts U.S. citizens to the latest information regarding human cases of 2009-H1N1 Influenza, sometimes referred to as swine flu. The Portuguese Ministry of Health has reported one confirmed case of 2009-H1N1 Influenza. A woman, recently arrived from Mexico, has been treated and is recovering at home. Authorities say she is no longer contagious. All fellow travelers and family members have been contacted and are being monitored. As of May 5, they have not presented with symptoms. Portuguese Ministry of Health authorities are following all precautions and recommendations of the World Health Organization. There is no evidence of human-to-human transmission in Portugal, no new measures are needed, and the same level of alert and precaution is being followed."
