Strong aftershocks continued to rattle the Solomon Islands on February 10th as officials raised the death toll from a powerful earthquake and tsunami earlier that month to ten people, Singapore-based media said. More than 3,000 people were left homeless after their homes were destroyed. Aid agencies managed to send two ships bearing water, food, tents, and medical supplies to Lata, the main city in the remote Santa Cruz islands, which were worst affected by the disaster.
