January 9, 2013. Earthquake rattles Aegean islands

An earthquake with a maximum recorded magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale shook cities and islands on both sides of the Aegean sea on January 8th, US-based media said. The earthquake was felt in the Turkish cities of Istanbul and Izmir and in the Greek islands of Lemnos and Lesvos. While the earthquake caused panic in some areas, officials reported no injuries or significant damages.
