News sources informed that 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the northwestern Pacific province of San Marcos in Guatemala, near the town of Champerico, on November 8th, killing at least 48 people. Several buildings collapsed and at least 135 homes were destroyed, sending thousands of people in the area affected to the streets and leaving over 70,000 others without electricity, according to the ministry of energy. Roads were also reportedly buried in landslides cause by the quake, during which at least twenty people went missing amidst the chaos. Damages were reported all throughout the country.
