The death toll from a magnitude-6.3 earthquake on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi reached six on August 20th, with rescue workers struggling to reach isolated mountain villages. At least 43 people were injured as of August 20th. The earthquake struck on the evening of August 18th near Palu city as local residents ended their fast on the final day of the Muslims holy month of Ramadan. At least 14 villages in Sigie district were blocked by the detritus from earthquakes.
