May 21, 2012. At least seven killed in earthquake in Italy

At least seven people were killed on May 20th after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck northeastern Italy, about 35km (22 miles) north of Bologna, reports indicated on May 21st. Four of the people killed were factory workers on an overnight shift at a ceramics factory in Sant'Agostino di Ferrara and another factory in Ponte Rodoni di Bondeno. In addition, two women died of heart attacks that may have been linked to fear during the earthquake. At least 50 people were feared injured in the earthquake. A firefighter was found injured by a damaged clock tower in Final Emilia. At least 3,000 people were left homeless by the earthquake and were force to move into shelters.
