May 13, 2011. Government Warning Issued for Spain

U.S. Embassy Madrid released the following Warden Message on May 12, 2011:
The U.S. Embassy in Madrid advises U.S. citizens to avoid the area affected by two earthquakes that struck the Murcia Region on May 11, 2011. Spanish authorities are responding to the crisis and reporting damage to buildings and other infrastructure in and near the cities of Lorca and Totana in southeastern Spain.
If you would like to report a loved one missing or injured in the area please call the Spanish toll-free number 900-12-1212. You may also call the U.S. Embassy at (34) 91-587-2240 between 08:30 – 17:30 Madrid time or after hours at (34) 91-587-2220. You may email us at askacs@state.gov.
