SOURCE:Altegrity Risk International

Workers attempted to trace the route of highly radioactive material using dye after officials identified the source of the leak as a 20cm (eight inch) crack in the concrete. Officials attempted but failed to use highly absorbent polymer to plug the leak. The plant operator said it dumped some 11,500 tons of less contaminated water to make way to store more contaminated water. The official death toll from the March 11th earthquake and tsunami, meanwhile, stood at 12,157 with nearly 15,500 still unaccounted for. More than 161,000 people continued to reside in evacuation centers.

In related news, officials uncovered the bodies of two workers killed by the tsunami at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, reports indicated on April 3rd. Although the bodies were found on March 30th, although they needed to be decontaminated first.
