February 18, 2011. Cholera outbreak plateaued in Haiti

The United Nations says Haiti's cholera outbreak plateaued and appears to be diminishing, according to media outlets on February 18th. A spokeswoman for the UN humanitarian coordination office says the overall fatality rate is down to 2% from 9% earlier in the outbreak. Government figures show 231,010 reported cases and 4,550 deaths since the outbreak in October 2010.
