The Organization of American States (OAS) will likely recommend that the governing party candidate in the Haitian presidential elections be dropped from the run-off vote, reports indicated on January 11th. Reports indicated that the ruling party's Jule Celestin came second after losing to former first lady Mirland Manigat. The OAS, however, found that opposition candidate Michel Martelly won more votes.
