December 7, 2010. Some 650,000 to be affected by cholera in Haiti

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that health officials now estimate some 650,000 people could become infected with cholera over the next six months, according to reports on December 6th. Officials from the Pan-American and World Health Organizations (PAHO and WHO) estimate that an additional 350 doctors are needed on top of the 300 medical staff already committed by Cuba.
