December 2, 2010. Powerful earthquake strikes Papua New Guinea

A magnitude 6.7 on the Richter scale earthquake struck waters off Papua New Guinea (PNG) on December 2nd, triggering panic in coastal towns of New Britain province, such as Kandrian and Kimbe, reports indicated. Officials did not immediately report casualties or serious damage in the earthquake.
