At least 12 of the 18 candidates in the Haitian presidential elections, including opposition front-runner Mirlande Manigat called for the November 28th vote to be canceled, claiming the polls were fraudulent, reports indicated on November 29th. Thousands marched through Port-au-Prince after the vote to demand it be scrapped, with at least two people killed in the ensuing clashes. The United Nations Mission to Haiti, meanwhile, expressed its "deep concerns." Allegations of mismanagement and voter fraud marred the vote, with reports of thugs attacking stations and efforts to disqualify voters.
