Doctors and aid groups are setting up cholera treatment centers across Port-au-Prince as officials warned that hundreds in the capital city's Cite Soleil slum are suspected of having contracted the disease. Following the confirmation on November 8th that a three-year-old boy had contracted the disease in the city, authorities have expressed concern that there will be a dramatic rise in cases in the city. At least two other cases have been confirmed in the city and health officials say they have seen hundreds of patients with symptoms of cholera. Nationwide, some 580 people have now died from cholera and some 9,500 others have been infected.
