SOURCE:Altegrity Risk International

The cholera epidemic has spread to Port-au-Prince, according to health officials who confirmed a three-year-old boy had contracted the disease in the city. More than 100 other suspected cholera cases among city residents are being tested. The outbreak has already killed at least 544 people in the country. Previously, officials believed that the only people in the city to contract cholera had done so after visiting another area of the country or coming in contact with someone who had recently traveled.
