June 2, 2010. Hurricane season opens in Haiti

The hurricane season in the Caribbean opened on June 1st with officials warning it may turn out to be one of the wettest on record, threatening the nearly 1.5 million internally displaced Haitians still residing in makeshift encampments after the January 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince, which killed some 300,000 people.
