February 22, 2010. Haiti hit by mild earthquake as Preval suggests death toll near 300,000

A 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit some 35km (20 miles) west of Port-au-Prince on February 22nd. Authorities say there were no immediate reports of damages or injuries. The earthquake hit just one day after President Preval warned that the death toll from the January 12th earthquake is expected to rise to 300,000 once all the bodies are recovered from wrecked buildings.
