Canada will help Haiti build a temporary administrative office in Port-au-Prince, according to reports on February 15th. The establishment of a Temporary Government Administrative Base remains an important step in the region's recovery and reconstruction since a strong January 12th earthquake killed more than 200,000 and made nearly one million people homeless in and around the capital city. The facility is expected to accommodate key ministries and public servants for up to a year and will enable the government to create a centralized operational base to manage efforts.
