On September 24th, a magnitude-7.8 earthquake struck southern Pakistan, northwest of Karachi, according to Western media. The area is not densely populated, but it is reportedly a poor area with vulnerable structures. There are reports that the quake was felt as far as Delhi, India, which is more than 1,000 miles away. It is the largest earthquake in Pakistan since 2005, when a 7.6 earthquake hit Kashmir, leaving over 87,500 died.
