A magnitude-5.7 earthquake was registered in the Arequipa region on July 16th, leaving two people injured at 15 homes destroyed, local media said. The quake was the seventh in the region in recent days, and shook the town of Cabanaconde, four hours from Arequipa city. The earthquakes, which were likely related to increased activity from the Sabancaya volcano have reportedly blocked some roads in the region.
