At least one person was killed and 19 others injured as a magnitude-6.1 earthquake struck Taiwan on March 27th, damaging buildings and suspending service on a high-speed railway line. Emergency workers claim the victim was a 72-year-old woman who was crushed by a temple wall in Nantou county. One worker was also injured in Nantou when a ceiling collapsed at a government office.
