Security has been increased in Haiti, with authorities tightening borders and patrolling streets over fears of political protests on August 19th after the country's Provisional Electoral Council announced plans to delay a decision on the eligibility of presidential candidates until August 20th. The council said it made the decision to delay the announcement due to the considerable number of appeals under review.
